Elliott and I got up and put to explore the city. We started at Mercat de la Boqueria. The market is giant and has all sorts of food prepped….it was fun to see but we did not end up eating. We decided to make our way to La Sagrada Família to check it out.
Elliott scoped out Miam and it was great. Then off to explore.

I saw this back in 1997 and the progress is cool to have seen. We did not tour but it was cool to see the architecture.
We then ventured toward Ciutadella Park. We first came through the Arc de Triomf.

The park was beautiful

The park was hot and we had to move between the shadows to stay cool. I we passed a pond with row boats – personally, I cannot figure out why people would want to get out on the water.

From there we returned to the hotel to cool off. We returned to the roof top deck and there was a large fire in the distance. People thought it was wildfires but the view was crazy.

From there we went to the Picasso Museum. Picasso spent some of his years in Barcelona. His sister actually donated all of his work from that period to the museum.

There were lots of different collections of paintings from different periods. My favorite was a series of paintings he did as a riff on a Valesquez painting Las Meninas.

It was interesting to see all of the different interpretations that he did.
Finally..they had a fun pottery collection of Picasso work.

From there we made our way La Pedrera / Casa Mila. We were there around sunset and got to see a nice view of the city.

The whole apartment house was amazing to see. The roof was an interesting structure and the architecture was super cool.

From there we went to dinner at Aüc Bar. The food was amazing and super fun. It was a great way to enjoy our last night in Spain.
Goodnight Barcelona!
