We ventured out to explore the areas of Asakusa and Ueno. One of the things that a lot of people were doing in Asakusa was renting Kimonos and wearing them around but we did not wander down that path. We can ask the AI to make that picture for us in the future.
We started at the Senso-ji Temple. It was their festival around the first temple visit of the year and was quite packed. People getting fortunes and lots of vendors with various types of food including candy.

From there we wandered through the shopping streets and enjoyed taking in all the sights and sounds (and smells).
We made our way to Kappabashi Street. It is lined with restaurant supply stores. Appliances to Togo containers and everything in between. Display food shops were interesting and had all sorts of food that looked like plastic food.

From there we moved on to Ueno park and to the Tokyo National Museum. On the way we stopped for our new favorite snack – Onigiri. Lots of fun flavors and easy to eat on the go.
As we walked through the park we came across a Winter Peony exhibit. The Peony garden has 160 peonies blooming in winter and over 500 in summer. It was really cool to come across.

In the Tokyo National museum we learned about Japanese history and art. I have never studied this so it was cool to get a glimpse into the different eras and how society evolved.

We made our way back to the hotel. Before we turned in we had one last adventure. We decided to hide haircuts in Tokyo a try. After a lot of options we settled on Hiro Ginza. Overall it worked out and no major hair failures but you can be the judge.

Two final shots in closing for the day. A cool manhole cover and a view of the sunsetting against Mt. Fuji from our hotel room. Good night Tokyo!
